A retired Edmonton area gentleman constructs these beautiful, precise grain elevator birdhouses in his spare time. Grain elevators hold a great historical significance in Alberta. Once, nearly every town and village in Alberta had one or more grain elevators. There are now only about 150 left in the province, and the remaining ones are disappearing quickly. These grain elevator birdhouses are very accurately replicated. The artist has paid very close attention to every detail, including getting wood samples from real grain elevators to match the color of paint. The artist also has a vast knowledge of nesting birds and has constructed these birdhouses to be effectively functional, besides looking great. These birdhouses are so attractive that you may wish to simply use them for display purposes inside your home. Each bird house comes with a model CN or CP Rail train caboose, or die cast John Deere tractor, or even antique model car. The cost of the birdhouses is $239 plus GST. For an additional $30 you can have your family name, and or town name displayed on 3 sides of the birdhouse. I have a limited amount in stock which can be boughten as is, or have letters applied. The parent loon is giving it’s young a piggy back ride to make it safe from any predators. Fine detailed artwork.
