The 1955 Chevy Cameo featured a narrow pickup box and smooth, flush rear fenders to make the vehicle look more like a car. Chevrolet would later copy the Cameo’s spare tire arrangement in the 1963 Corvette. Reliant makes it’s first appearance in the motion picture “The Wrath of Khan” ( the second of the Star Trek movies ). The space ship is captained by Clark Terrell with help from first officer Pavel Chekov and crew of 237. Khan Noonien Singh ( played by actor Ricardo Montaban ) had been exiled to an inhospitable planet named Citi Alpha V by Captian James T. Kirk as seen in the original Star Trek Series episode “Space Seed” first aired in 1967. In that episode the crew of the Enterprise discovers Khan in the year 2267 in a clinicly frozen suspension and revives him. Khan is a product of genetic engineering and is one of many “superhumans” who controlled a good portion of the world in the 1990’s. Khan and some others left Earth on the ship called the SS Botany Bay. Khan tries to take control of the Enterprise but is foiled by Captain Kirk who sends him to try  and colonize the desolate planet Citi Alpha V. For 15 years Khan could think about nothing else but revenge against Captain Kirk for the situation he was put in and for the death of his wife (which he blames Captain Kirk for). In the Wrath of Khan the crew of the Reliant are lured to Citi Alpha V thinking it was Citi Alpha VI. Khan and his followers quickly take control of the situation and hijack the U.S.S. Reliant. Khan is determined to get his revenge against Captain Kirk and nearly accomplishes his goal, but once again Captain Kirk uses his quick wits and experience to defeat Khan.
